Amnon Shpira

Amnon Shpira is a seasoned expert and has over 25 years of experience in the energy sector. He has served as the Chairman of the Public Utilities Authority (PUA) in Israel from 2006 to 2011. Before his nomination as Chairman, Amnon served as a Manager of reliability and quality of supply unit at PUA from 1996-2000 and then he was nominated to be the Head Engineering Division at PUA in 2000 until 2006. Currently he is into private consulting supporting IPP’s projects in Israel and in Africa, adviser to the Israeli Government in creating an Electricity strategic plan to the year 2050. He holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from Ben Gurion University in Israel and another degree in Natural Gas Engineering from Technicon University in Israel.
