Dan Taylor is an experienced professional in the energy transition space with a career spanning the entire energy and utilities industry. In 2018 he co-founded ion Ventures, an international energy transition specialist focused on developing and operating clean energy and flexibility assets aimed at supporting the integration of renewables into the grid. Since then, Dan has been highly focused on advancing clean energy projects, with particular focus on solar and energy storage, across the UK, Europe and South and Southeast Asia.

With more than 25 years of experience in the industry, Dan has held a number of senior roles across the energy sector. He has been instrumental in delivering some of the most pioneering energy storage projects, including the first Tesla grid-scale system in Europe, and has led the development of more than 300MW of storage capacity to date. His expertise spans the energy, electric vehicle, smart grid, and cleantech sectors, with a track record of driving innovation and commercial success both in the UK and internationally. Through senior roles in high-growth businesses and strategic advisory positions, Dan has helped shape the evolving landscape of the energy transition.

Dan is actively involved in not-for-profit development, focusing on rural electrification and off-grid schemes to reduce poverty through clean power access. He is a trustee and secretary for HVC UK, supporting educational and community development in Cambodia.

Dan is recognised for his contributions to the energy sector and is regularly invited to speak on topics such as renewables, energy storage, grid system flexibility, and EV at conferences across the UK, Europe and Asia. His extensive experience and commitment to clean energy and sustainability make him a key player in the energy sector.
