Violet Chen

Through her work in Industry Development, Violet aims to build a vibrant and innovative energy ecosystem that catalyses research and innovation, supports enterprise development, and facilitates deployment of promising solutions in support of the Singapore Energy Transition.

She also leads planning and development efforts that build and enable a future-ready energy workforce to capture opportuniƟes in new jobs and skills that will be brought on by the Singapore Energy Transition.

Prior to her current appointment, Violet held roles in the Policy and Planning, External Relations departments in EMA. She was also with the InternaƟonal Energy Agency (IEA) in 2012 and contributed to that year’s World Energy Outlook (WEO).

The EMA is a statutory board under the Ministry of Trade and Industry. Its main goals are to ensure a reliable and secure energy supply, promote effective competition in the energy market and develop a dynamic energy sector in Singapore.
