Gan Boon Hean

Gan Boon Hean is the Group Chief Executive Officer of Leader Energy Holding Berhad. He is a registered Professional Engineer with Practicing Certificate, a Corporate member of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia and a holder of High Voltage Electrical Competent Engineer Certificate issued by the Energy Commission of Malaysia. He is also a holder of the APEC Engineer and International Professional Engineer Certificates.

Mr Gan graduated from University of Technology, Malaysia with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering. He has more than 40 years of experience in the power sector in Asia. He started his career in the Power Transmission division of TNB. He later joined ABB Malaysia and was appointed as the Vice President of the Power Division. In 2009, he joined Leader Universal Holdings Berhad’s group as the Chief Operating Officer, in charge of the development of the 230/115/22kV transmission project of Cambodian Transmission Limited.

His work experience includes business development, overall management, sales and marketing, engineering, project management, operations, maintenance and after sales service. He has experience in the development of large-scale solar farms, C&I rooftop solar projects, small hydro power plants, coal-fired power plants, high voltage and extra high voltage substations, underground cables and transmission lines.

He currently manages operations spanning across seven countries in Asia and sits on the board of several subsidiary companies of HNG Capital as well as subsidiary companies of Leader Energy Holding Sdn Bhd.
